In the beginning, Wynwood was nature. Then the Tequesta, Seminole, and Miccosukee tribes displaced nature to make their home. They were expelled by Spanish warriors, making way for Caribbean settlers and traders, only to be uprooted by industry and commerce. In the end, right here where we stand, displacement continues.
